Apr. 4--As they prepare to meet this year's tax filing deadline, workers across California are reminded of just how much (or how little) income they had in 2001.
Recently compiled data from the 2000 tax year shows that Santa Barbara County saw an increase in median income that year, but San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties posted higher numbers.
The median income in Santa Barbara County increased by 5.6 percent to $54,190 for 2000, according to joint returns filed with the state's Franchise Tax Board. This figure put the county in 21st place for median income among all 58 counties in the state.
