Mar. 25--Sometimes in life, survival of the fittest doesn't always work. A good idea comes along, improving on the ideas before it, but for one reason or another, it's not allowed to flourish.
A perfect example is home health care, which took the health-care industry by storm in the early 1990s, changing the way many Americans received treatment. But home health care eventually became a cautionary tale about how new ideas can be cut down despite widespread support before the industry stabilized in the new century.
