Visiting Central New York for the first time?
Celebrate - with a glass of wine in the Finger Lakes.
The wine district is centered on four primary lakes: Canandaigua, Cayuga, Seneca and Keuka.
Wineries on Cayuga, Seneca and Keuka lakes have member-sponsored "wine trails" with their own special events for visitor.
The region's specialties include sparkling wine, Riesling, Pinot Noir, and ice wine.
We asked Ithaca author Michael Turback, who is writing a book on Finger Lakes wine and food for Ten Speed Press, to pick one "must-visit" winery on each of the main lakes.
