Mar. 26--A semiconductor-industry consortium has again named Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute a high-tech research center, a designation worth $9.75 million over the next three years.
Gov. George Pataki said Monday that RPI's Center for Advanced Interconnect Systems Technologies (CAIST) has been recertified by the Semiconductor Research Corp.
"Our partnership with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will further strengthen our efforts to ensure that New York remains a national leader in fostering the growth of technology-based economic development and job creation," he said.
