Mar. 29--VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.--Although retail space continues to be built in Hampton Roads, the area is still underserved, and the potential for income through retail sales is underestimated, according to Gerald Divaris, CEO of Divaris Real Estate Services Inc. in Virginia Beach.
Divaris, who is partnering in the development of the Virginia Beach Town Center in Virginia Beach, where 400,000 square feet of retail space is planned, said although the national economy was having contractual pains during much of 2001, the local real estate market for retail product is marching on.
