Mar. 17--There is a growing number of small businesses in the Inland area -- some mom and pop operations -- that make parts for racing and mountain bicycles.
Bike enthusiasts, including many who are riding in the Redlands Bicycle Classic, have their bikes custom-made. These small Inland companies have grown up around the custom-bike business, supplying such things as frames.
The giant makers of bike parts are in Japan. So, here's a question: Can a whole bike be made from parts made in the Inland Empire?
