Mar. 22--RINGGOLD, Ga.--The Tennessee Valley Authority -- created during the Great Depression to harness the power of the Tennessee River for flood-ravished Appalachia -- was asked Thursday to also manage the river to help drought-stricken Georgians.
"We'd like to have all the water they can supply us," said state Rep. Roger Williams, R-Dalton. "Georgia is going to be in another drought situation this year and it seems to me there is enough water supply in the Tennessee River to help us out."
