Scot Minshall wistfully remembers the summers several years ago when the Colorado Rockies still electrified downtown Denver.

More than 40,000 baseball fans would crowd Coors Field on game days, and another 10,000 would descend on lower downtown, hitting area bars and restaurants to watch Rockies baseball on TV and soak in the atmosphere.

"It used to be such an event. Everything was still so new, it was a unique experience," said Minshall, general manager of Jackson's All-American Sports Grill, which opened downtown in 1995 - the Rockies' third season ever and first at Coors Field.
