Mar. 29--Americans are expected to spend nearly $1.9 billion this year on Easter chocolates and jelly beans, making this one of the sweetest weeks of the year for Brach Confections.
The Chattanooga-based candy maker expects to sell more than 2 billion jelly beans this Easter season. That's enough of the sugar candies to stretch from Atlanta to Sydney, Australia and back if they were laid end to end.
