Aug. 12--A state-commissioned report that analyzed the relationship of dead birds and the world's largest wind farm in the East Bay found that bigger is better.
So is taller. And fewer.
Contained within a California Energy Commission report released this week were solutions for how to reduce the number of bird deaths in the Altamont Pass. The report recommends replacing the small wind turbines with fewer, larger turbines on taller towers.
