GETTING THERE
The Wisconsin Dells area comprises the city of Wisconsin Dells and the village of Lake Delton, both a tad less than 200 miles from Chicago. Take Interstate Highway 90 west. Be ready with $2 in tolls before you get to Wisconsin. Exit at U.S. Highway 12 in the Dells area. Or if you want to do like pioneers in the old days of Dells vacations, take U.S. 12 all the way, provided the roads are clear. It's almost like a mini-Route 66.
LODGING
The idea is to be at the water parks when no one else is. That makes the Dells area your oyster as for lodging during the week. Nearly all resorts and motels run ...
