Feb. 22--Goodbye corner deli, hello Tuscan eatery.
Subway Restaurants is launching a new look: softer lighting will complement brick wall coverings, gold stucco and porcelain stone floor tiles. The green and beige Subway cityscape mural will become a pale yellow called Tuscany gold.
The overhaul -- which franchise owners have the option of enacting -- is the first of its kind for the chain, whose original store opened in Bridgeport in 1965.
"This is the first time they've ever tackled interior and exterior and changed things as dramatically," spokeswoman Annie Smith said.
