Feb. 24--DUBLIN, Ireland--A short stretch of road in the heart of Ireland's horse country reveals much about this country's economic journey from agriculture age to information age.
Passing by traditional Irish pubs and shops in County Kildare outside Dublin, the scenery soon gives way to new housing developments of a growing suburbia. Then comes the sprawling campus of a multinational, high-tech company: Intel's largest manufacturing site outside the United States.
In recent years, Ireland has become a European hub for many of Silicon Valley's tech giants, including Oracle, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems.
