Feb. 24--CHOICE ONE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION: The Wilkes-Barre credit union has been granted a low-income charter by the National Credit Union Administration.
The new charter expands the bank's service area from select employee groups and organizations to residents, workers and businesses of 17 Luzerne County municipalities and portions of three others.
The 17 municipalities are Conyngham, Courtdale, Hanover, Hollenback, Nescopeck, Newport, Plymouth and Wilkes-Barre townships; Edwardsville, Luzerne, Plymouth, Pringle, Swoyersville and West Hazleton boroughs; and Hazleton, Nanticoke and Wilkes-Barre cities.
