Feb. 25--Local hotels and restaurants must love the Pacific Life Open tennis tournament held in Indian Wells every March.
The event, which was called the Newsweek Tennis Masters Series until 2001, pumped about $100 million into the local economy last year, according to a study conducted by George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
