Feb. 2--Ponte Vedra Beach, the Northeast Florida king of multimillion-dollar homes, has been getting some competition for the throne from a neighbor to the north.

Buyers agreed to buy two separate oceanfront homes on Beach Avenue in Atlantic Beach last month for more than $2 million, the first time that mark has been broken twice in the same time frame, area real estate agents said.

One house, a four-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bathroom cottage-style complex originally built in the 1930s, is pending sale for $2.65 million. The other home, with five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a panoramic ocean view, is pending sale for about $2.2 million. The ...
