Jan. 25--Marise Cipriani, owner of SolVista and Berthoud ski areas, has sold the airline her father founded and nurtured into Brazil's fourth-largest carrier.
The selling price for Transbrasil Airlines: about 40 cents.
The Sao Paulo investment group that picked up the airline for one Brazilian real also assumed $420 million in debt.
"That was the main thing," said Cipriani, who was a minor shareholder in the company and served on the airline's ownership board. "It was an emotional decision.
