Jan. 30--Fox News Channel is the champion of cable news for the first time.
Fox News in January beat CNN across the board in the most important measures of how many people are tuning in. It was the first month that ever happened.
And Fox News' triumph came during a period of major news and international events -- historically the best of times for CNN.
Fox News had an average of 656,000 viewers watching at any time throughout the day in January. CNN averaged 596,000, according to Nielsen Media Research data provided by the networks. The story was largely the same in prime time -- all despite the fact that CNN is ...
