* GTE Spacenet Can. announced March 2 that Howard Svigals has been named vice president and general manager, satellite services effective immediately. Svigals, 38, reports to Spacenet President C.J. Waylan and is responsible for GTE Spacenet's nine operational satellites, including four Spacenet-series, four GStar-series and the ASC 1 spacecraft. Svigals most recently served as vice president of finance for Spacenet.
