RICHMOND -- The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit Tuesday in federal court in Richmond, challenging a new Virginia law that bans teen nudist camps.
The ACLU is hoping for a preliminary injunction that would allow White Tail Park, in rural Ivor, to have a camp for teens July 24 through 31 , said Kent Willis , executive director of the ACLU of Virginia.
The law, enacted by the General Assembly earlier this year, prevents minors from attending nudist camps without being accompanied by their parents or legal guardians. It goes into effect Thursday.
