VIRGINIA BEACH -- The Virginia Beach Pavilion was buzzing this week with almost 3,000 people - athletes, coaches and fans - from around the country.
It was the National High School Coaches Association's Open Wrestling Championships. The Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates the event brought in between $250,000 and $300,000 in local hotel sales alone.
It was one week, one sport.
But if the NHSCA and the Virginia Beach visitors bureau have it their way, next year will be much bigger.
