ELIZABETH CITY -- Elizabeth City State University could launch a pharmacy school in 2005 if funding that already has passed the Senate receives final approval.
The Senate earlier this month approved $985,815 in annual operating funds and $3.3 million for construction at ECSU.
If funded, ECSU would build an 8,000-square-foot facility for a pharmacy school next to the Jimmy R. Jenkins Science Center.
The building would open sometime during the 2005-2006 school year, and students would attend class elsewhere on campus if construction is not finished by fall 2005.
