2004 AUG 21 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Ticlopidine and clopidogrel have comparble antithrombotic activity during coronary stenting.
"Controversy still surrounds the question, which antiplatelet drug should be added to aspirin in patients undergoing coronary stent implantation," scientists in the Netherlands explained.
To resolve this question, G. Deluca and colleagues at the Hospital de Weezenlanden in Zwolle conducted a study "to compare ticlopicline and clopiclogrel in a consecutive series of patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) treated with primary stenting."
