Almost one-third of Minnesota's charter schools are regularly violating state law by failing to turn in financial audits on time, according to a report released Thursday by state Rep. Matt Entenza, DFL-St. Paul. And almost a third failed to provide board meeting minutes when requested - another violation - Entenza said.
The report, he said, highlights a charter school system in Minnesota that receives more than $100 million in state funding, yet has little financial oversight and almost no fiscal accountability.
