Jan. 8--NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.--South Carolina started its own lottery Monday, but the $23 million man still plans to take his chances in Georgia.
Joe Williams says he doesn't like the comparatively piddly payouts offered in South Carolina.
"They ain't got nothing but scratch-off right now," said Williams, who two years ago won big playing the Big Game in Georgia. "They ain't got no real lottery tickets."
Williams lives in North Augusta, but travels the 13th Street Bridge across the Savannah River into Augusta each day to play Georgia's lottery. The two-mile trip takes him past a number of South Carolina gas stations ...
