Jan. 16--Another institution founded by Henry Ford is having to bite the bullet.
After Ford Motor Co. announced a $4.1-billion cost-cutting plan Friday, Henry Ford Health System announced on Tuesday it will eliminate 500 jobs, close three clinics and consolidate two Downriver hospitals, moves expected to save $50 million this year.
Henry Ford expects to save another $8 million in supply costs while generating a projected $12 million in additional revenue.
