That's right, there is no mistaking it. Slide makers and natue judges deserve better in camera club competitions. That fact has been abundantly clear to me for a number of years. I tried to do something about it when I wrote "The Nature of the Problem" (April, 1989 issue of PSA Journal). Now, after reading Dr. Martin M. Bruce's bit in the Diffuser for the August, 1991 issue, I've decided to try again to do something about it.
Dr. Bruce emphasized the importance of the nature story. I fully agree with the emphasis. A truly good nature slide should convey its own nature story, even if no hint is given in the title and both maker and judge are well versed in the ...
