Lachlan Dale hit three home runs in 79 games during his first two professional seasons in Idaho Falls.
Now in his third season, Dale is tied for the Northwest League lead with 13 home runs after belting two three-run homers in Eugene's 14-6 win over Yakima on Tuesday night in front of 3,205 at Civic Stadium.
There must be an explanation for the Australian's sudden power increase, right?
"I have no idea," Dale said. "I worked hard in the offseason and hit five times a week and it is paying off. I'm surprised after my first two seasons to have 13 home runs this year."
