Jan. 23--NORFOLK, Va.--The Schooner Virginia Project, which has sought to copy the success of Maryland's Pride of Baltimore II, has hired one of the Pride's former skippers to head the tall ship effort.
As the project gears up to begin construction on the Norfolk waterfront this year, Robert C. Glover III -- who has more than 25 years' experience building and sailing tall ships -- comes on board as executive director.
The Virginia Maritime Heritage Foundation, the official name for the project, announced Glover's appointment Tuesday. The 43-year-old Glover takes over from Rick Boesch, the founder of the project, who will ...
