SANTA ANA, Calif. _ When she was a youngster, Lyn Harris Hicks and her brother went house to house along the streets of North Hollywood, dragging behind them their little red wagon piled high with campaign fliers for Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

The now-retired social studies and creative writing teacher and Democratic convention delegate from San Clemente says she's had an "evolution of spirit" since her support for World War II as a youth and doesn't believe the United States should make war anymore.
