Since the shock results at the European election, when the UK Independence Party tipped the Liberal Democrats into fourth place, there seems to have been a heightened awareness of European issues in the national psyche. U KIP has obviously touched a nerve, but does it have anything meaningful to say and would its policies towards Europe be good for the country?
The short answer is 'no'--withdrawal from Europe would be a disaster for the UK. For a start the economy is heavily dependent on the Continent.
