Marine communications has finally come out--exposed itself so to speak.

Back in the late 1940s and early '50s commercial fishermen were just experimenting with the brand-new notion of calling other boats and even shore using radiotelephones from companies such as Radiomarine Corp. of America and Hudson America. In those days, communications equipment was housed well out of the line of fire from incoming moisture or spray.
