Cazenovia's Beezie Madden has been at the top of the show-jumping world for 15 years but is competing in her first Olympics. Show jumping, one of three equestrian events in the Olympics (besides dressage and eventing), is a sport that is foreign to practically everyone outside the relatively exclusive show-jumping world. If there were a "Show Jumping For Dummies" manual (and there isn't, we checked), it would probably say that you have to go fast and jump clear, but there's much more to the sport than that.
