Home health nurse groups have told LNN that a new, less restrictive Medicare definition of "homebound" is a step toward achieving greater freedom and independence for people with disabilities who require daily assistance. They added, however, that not enough people will be able to participate in a new Medicare demonstration project announced June 3 by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
