The Colorado Rockies and Pittsburgh Pirates, meeting in a weekend series at PNC Park, have two of the best records in baseball. The best records since the All-Star break, that is.
Following the Rockies' win Friday, Colorado has won 17 of 29 games (.586) played since the All-Star Game - the fifth-best record in the National League since July 13 and 10th best in baseball overall. That includes a 8-2 road record since the break - compared with 9-10 at Coors Field. Colorado was 36-51 at the break.
On this date last season, the Rockies were 61-62 before dropping 26 of their final 39 games.
