OSCE OBSERVERS TO ARRIVE IN MINSK ON AUGUST 30

The first observers from the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) are expected to arrive in Belarus to monitor the parliamentary election campaign to begin on August 30, spokesperson for the OSCE Office in Minsk Heidi Smith told Interfax on Tuesday.

"A delegation of 30 long-term observers will be led by the office's former director Audrey Glover," Smith said.

The short-term monitoring will last for a week and will be carried out by 300 observers.
