1 Cut your hair.
Yes, that's right. Before you start to grow your locks, you've got to suck it up, visit a salon, and snip off all the damaged ends. "Otherwise, the damage will travel up the hair shaft and weaken your growing hair," says Jessie Martinez, manager and stylist at the George Michael Salon in Beverly Hills, which specializes in long-hair care. Also, unless your hair is very thick or very curly, trim the overall length up to the shortest layers (or as short as you're willing to go), says Martinez.
