MANCHESTER United investors John Magnier and JP McManus are in the bidding for privately-owned nursing homes group Westminster Healthcare.
The pair, along with Irish millionaire Dermot Desmond, own rival Barchester Healthcare. Magnier and McManus control almost 30pc of ManU, worth [pounds sterling]185m, and are rumoured to be ready to sell up to US tycoon Malcolm Glazer.
Lloyds bites back
LLOYDS TSB dismissed union claims that offshoring jobs to India infringed data protection laws. The LTU is backing a customer's legal challenge against the bank.
Lloyds will have shifted 1,500 jobs to India by the yearend.
