2004 AUG 27 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Perospirone may enhance the efficacy of fluoxetine in patients with refractory depression.
"Perospirone is a novel atypical antipsychotic with a unique combination of 5-HT1A receptor agonism as well as 5-HT2A and D-2 receptor antagonism," scientists in Japan explained.
In a recent study, T. Yoshino and colleagues at Jichi Medical School "investigated the effect of perospirone in combination with fluoxetine on dopamine release in the rat medial prefrontal cortex using microdialysis."
