TOKYO, Aug 20 Asia Pulse - Ito En Ltd. (TSE:2593) has developed a vending machine with an exterior partially made from used tea leaves.
In the course of making its green tea drinks, the company produces some 30,000 tons of used tea leaves annually, over half of which is recycled as fertilizer.
In a bid to be more environment-friendly and make more effective use of the spent leaves, it developed technology that can turn the leaves into a resin without requiring costly drying procedures.
