Aug. 23--Henry County commissioners are scheduled to vote Tuesday on a proposal that soon could give them co-ownership of Tara Field airport.
The airport, near the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, is owned and operated by the Clayton County government. Clayton County's ownership is a sore spot for Henry leaders, because the airport is in Henry County.
Under the plan being discussed by the two counties, Henry County would spend up to $13 million over the next 10 to 20 years to buy land and buildings in the area.
