Aug. 23--Columbians are reading about her working as a waitress and Wal-Mart associate, but when Barbara Ehrenreich comes to town next month, she'll be back to her day job as lecturer and author.
Ehrenreich is the author of this year's One Read selection, "Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America," recording her misadventures at several low-paying jobs. She is scheduled to speak Sept. 30 in Jesse Hall at the University of Missouri-Columbia in the final event of One Read programs next month.
