Aug. 24--Waccamaw Neck residents breathed a sigh of relief when they heard a Kroger supermarket could be moving to their neighborhood instead of a Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse.
A deal, however, to sell property on the South Causeway to the supermarket chain has not been finalized, according to representatives from the Ohio-based company.
But no matter how far the deal progresses, Kroger may become the latest large company that has to deal with a new Georgetown County ordinance designed to restrict where big-box retailers are located. That ...
