Bank of America Corp. has named Bill Hatfield, a 23-year Fleet Bank veteran, as its Rhode Island president and the managing director of private banking for the state.
Mr. Hatfield had been Fleet Bank's Rhode Island vice chairman; B of A bought the parent FleetBoston Financial Corp. in April.
As B of A's Rhode Island president he succeeded Neil D. Steinberg, who left to become the director of development at his alma mater, Brown University.
