The Wine Institute, holding its spring meeting Feb. 10-11 at the Silverado resort in the Napa Valley, clapped enthusiastically over the remarks of Dr. Curtis Ellison of the Boston University School of Medicine. And well the members should. Dr. Ellison was the authority on last November's "60 Minutes" program explaining that the French have much lower rates of heart disease than do northern Europeans and Americans. It is called the "French Paradox" because, although the French have similar eating habits as do the Americans, the rate of heart disease is less prevalent.
