Rabbi Aaron traces his motivation for writing this book to a condition he calls "theophobia"--a notion of God as a "cosmic party pooper" and stern unrelenting judge. The rabbi knew, however, that he was "dealing with a deity created in my own image, born out of my fears and insecurities." He, therefore, set out to discover God as he really is through the study of the Kabbalah, which is a mystical interpretation of the Torah.
In the process, he further traced the condition of theophobia to a strict interpretation of monotheism. ...
