Aug. 25--The Army Corps of Engineers will probably decide within a month or two whether to hold a public hearing on the St. Peters, Mo., levee plan that Illinois officials say could harm towns along the Mississippi River. Corps of Engineers spokesman Alan Dooley said officials of the St. Louis District will determine whether a public hearing or an environmental impact statement is needed to make an informed decision on St. Peters' application for permission to build the levee.
