When impeachment is mentioned, we think of Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton. Nixon resigned over the Watergate Affair in 1974 before facing a formal impeachment trial before Congress. Clinton did undergo a trial after lying about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky, but was acquitted.
