Many adults find exercise adherence difficult, yet few studies have been conducted to examine older adults' exercise adherence patterns. To address this lack, Crowley et al. (2003) examined exercise adherence among older adults in both a clinical and home setting and the effects that supervised exercise has on adherence in a home setting.
The researchers selected older sedentary adults and randomly assigned them to one of two exercise interventions that were designed to improve physical functioning.
