Aug. 26--DUMAS, Texas -- It was the mess that drove Ed Bright to his latest jalapeno popper grill invention.
Bright, a sculptor from Clarendon, didn't like the cream cheese running out in his oven or on his grill when he prepared jalapeno treats stuffed with shrimp and cream cheese and wrapped in bacon.
"I was cooking mine in the oven, and they would burn and get cream cheese all over," he said.
Necessity, they say, is the mother of invention.
